EDPB & Commission Annual Reports Highlight GDPR Strategy & AI Data Protection Priorities

According to recent EDPB annual reports, the Board has emphasized expanded cooperation with new EU regulatory frameworks such as the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the AI Act, and published strategic priorities for 2024–27. These include consistent enforcement, advisory reports on emerging technologies, and guidance for cloud services and blockchain processing — critical insights for DPOs and compliance professionals. The reports also show increased issuance of consistency opinions under Article 64 GDPR on topics such as “consent or pay” models and personal data use in AI.
